Samsung has released a smartphone to market called the Droid Charge Smartphone. The Samsung product page outlines the product. Samsung in no way contacted Droid Charge, the artist, about using the name before the release of their product.

Taking legal action is of interest to Droid Charge, the artist, as this name has been used as a music project since 2007. DROID is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd. and its related companies, and is used under license by Samsung. This makes the issue more complicated.
